This blog is about an opportunity NFID had to design a ‘Mohave Modern’ style bonus room. The interior was suppose to be youthful, graphic, fun, and carry out what is currently seen in todays fashion as ‘navajo-flair’. I decided to acheive this navajo feel without using any colour as I didn’t want the open concept bonus room to be too distracting from the rest of the home. As the design process begun, so did my selections in layering textiles & patterns. I also felt that it was important to find a unique piece that could stand out by itself… luckily, I found this beautiful vintage worn camel leather armchair & ottoman in my travels.
This room shot showcases the overall modern sectional in J.Ennis Urban collection fabric, the black & white Duralee fabric chevron drapery, and of course a beautiful 60″x40″ canvas art by Lindsay Nichols Photography. The sectional was custom made by NFID.
All projects have budgets, so a great way we kept the cost down was to incorporate this Ikea Stockholm media stand.
