Grey has been a trend for so long and for good reason! Judging by decor magazines and designers, a grey palette is here to stay. This home in particular is a great showcase of layering a neutral palette and variations of white, off-white, cream, dove grey, concrete grey, charcoals, & black. This palette works and is still dynamic because it has a variation of details, finishes, and multiple layers. The interior design of this living is a testament to proving how even cool greys can be warm and inviting.
Instead of a sectional, the clients opted for two sofas custom made & upholstered in a fabric with a tweed-like texture. The custom toss cushions covered in a Telio fabric added a beautiful organic pattern and metallic sheen. The custom upholstered chair via Gresham House in a JF Fabric adds a geometric element.
The living room is finished with a beautiful amount of finishing detail, including the crown moulding on the ceiling that gives the home a charming classic and warm character. The dark hardwood floors grounds the space, allowing the large tufted ottoman (via 4 Living) to blend and provide a cozy feel. A gorgeous carrara marble slab surrounds the firebox and instantly adds a touch of glam. Adding to the dazzle, the glass table lamp and floor lamp, with just a bit of polished nickel, from Restoration Hardware work together in unison with the other finishes on the main floor of the house.
Calgary interior designer, Natalie Fuglestveit enjoyed working on this project from beginning to end with these fabulous clients. It was such a pleasure to see them move in and enjoy the space.
