A Lake House Style Entry

A Lake House Style Entry

There is nothing as refreshing as a simplistic, modern, and fresh design palette inspired by water.  This lake house style entry features beautifully sleek elements that can brighten up your mood and refresh your spirit.  Here are 5 points why we love this lake house style entry:

1) We designed this walnut slatted bench that is scaled perfectly for this front foyer entry.  The design was to replicate nautical crates or palettes used in the fishing industry for storing lobster, fish, or other ocean life food.  Nautical crates are often considered ‘Dockside Decor’ and we brought that concept into this modern entrance.

2) We decided to use walnut as a feature accent in the space.  This custom-made bench by Edmonton based Oliver Apt was made exclusively for NFID.  They specialize in woodworking, beautiful hand-crafted spaces and home products. 3) We selected a collaboration of simplistic colors, textures, and water-like patterns for our custom-made pillows.  We wanted to include our feature ‘marine blue’ in each interior space to ensure that the home has a cohesive feel.  4) Our goal was to achieve a more modern & understated nautical approach through simple elements.  We were able to do this through streamline millwork, simplistic white headboard panelling in small areas, and layering window treatments.  This rear entry window required a simple semi-opaque roller blind + a flat custom-made valance by NFID.

5) We love featuring this custom-made water artwork by Lindsay Nichols Photography.  She was able to capture the perfect balance of water with modern movement.  We love how this space feels fresh and open.
