Natalie Fuglestveit Interior Design enjoyed taking a classic black and white palette and creating this modern dining room design. This dining room is layered with minimal and elegant details that all contributed to the simplistic sophistication of this space.

This modern dining room was designed to be a flexible open space that allows for various types of dining experiences. The potlights in the dining room allow for even, balanced lighting without dictating table location. Clients are able to shift and extend the dining table to accomodate additional people when entertaining. We also designed floor to ceiling ripplefold drapery to provide visual height and diffuse the lighting in the space.

Natalie Fuglestveit Interior Design had the opportunity to work on this beautiful kitchen renovation.

The clients wanted to update their existing kitchen that was dark & heavy! The existing kitchen layout was still very functional, so our goal was to focus on the kitchen selections and finishes.

The result is this beautiful kitchen!!!

Kitchen Colours

The original kitchen was dated with a builders standard granite and creamy backsplash tile that had a border accent and felt very busy.

We decided to help the client create a bright and luxurious feel by painting the dark island to a soft grey and the creamy yellow perimeter C2 Architectural White.

It is often lovely to have 2-3 colours or stains for your kitchen millwork if they compliment each other. If done correctly, it can provide a soft dimensional distinction between kitchen zones and the emphasize millwork details.

Nothing beats this oversized large Restoration Hardware gold tray! We also have a soft spot for Le Creuset anything:-)

Kitchen Budget

Working with client on balancing budget plays a big factor in the kitchen renovation. It is our job as professionals to help clients allocate budget in areas that will provide the most impact.

When we work with clients, we weigh out their priorities, likes, dislikes, function, and design goals. It is through our years of experience designing new-build homes, renovations, dealing with site issues, & sourcing products that we can provide this services to our clients and give them the peace of mind they are looking for.

Kitchen Lighting

When designing a kitchen, we always factor in kitchen lighting. It is important to have a strong balance of natural lighting, general lighting, task & accent lighting.

In this kitchen we ensured that the natural lighting from the kitchen window & door was not restricted in any way. The pot lights add balanced general lighting in the kitchen. The stunning pendants & under cabinet lighting provide both a task & accent lighting (drawing attention to the quartz backsplash & island decor).

Instead of selecting a backsplash tile we decided to simplify the kitchen by doing a quartz backsplash.

Natalie Fuglestveit Interior Design is a Professional Interior Designer based in Kelowna, BC. We love working with clients and helping them out with they primary residences & vacation homes across the Okanagan and British Columbia.

This stylish master retreat was a beautiful, simplistic & modern bedroom we designed. The design goal was to create a luxury space where clients can relax and rejuvenate.

Custom Made Ripplefold Sheers & Bedding

Within this beautiful master retreat, Natalie Fuglestveit Interior Design had to work with placing a king size bed in a room that had corner windows. The location of these windows were not overly considerate about the accommodating a king size bed! One way we were able to overcome this space concern was to add beautiful custom-made ripplefold sheer drapery to both window walls. This allows the natural light to be diffused and for there to be a more uniform look across the wall, acting as a backdrop for the headboard.

As a professional interior designer, we feel that bedding is VERY important!!! We work with clients on sourcing bed linens that they will love for years & years, whether it is cotton, silk, wool, or linen.

At Natalie Fuglestveit Interior Design we feel that high-end bed linens and inserts are a touch of luxury that never disappoints our clients!

The best way to finish off designing a room is to fill a bed with some custom-made pillows. These pillows are covered with some fabric favourites, cloaking luxurious quality feather-down inserts.

Luxury Linens & Custom Made Pillows

This small ensuite bathroom was designed to be fresh and tasteful. It’s modern and sleek feel showcases the crisp lines throughout. The matte black hardware & finishing accent showcases the cabinetry and keeps the space feeling timeless in style.
